Gingerbread House - Making Party

My Gingerbread House

Ashton's Gingerbread House

Yesterday, we went to a neighbor’s house for a gingerbread house-making party. It was a lot of fun! We got to watch the Grinch as well as Home Alone while we were making our houses.

My gingerbread house has a tree made from a sugar cone. I stuck green fruit loops all over it to make it look like an evergreen. Then, I put M&M on it as ornaments and a piece of red licorice as lights. M&Ms were used in place of house lights, and Mike and Ike’s candies framed the door. Smarties created a zigzag pattern along the roof and marshmallows surrounded the gingerbread house.

While my house was organized and precise, my brother’s was the total opposite. He splattered icing everywhere, and in an effort to be quick and load as much candy on, he stuck pieces here and there, creating a hodge-podge of icing and candy.

We had a lot of fun making my gingerbread house. I hope I get to do it again!
